Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 23 stitches (5 + 10 + 6 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work stitches as they appear; knit yarn-over loops.

The patt rep = 10 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 5 stitches before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 6 stitches after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, skpo, k3, yo, * p1, yo, k3, cdd, k3, yo *; repeat from * to *; p1, yo, k3, k2tog, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: work sts as they appear; knit yarn-over loops. 

Row 3:  edge st, skpo, k2, yo, p1, * p2, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; p2, yo, k2, k2tog, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, skpo, k1, yo, p2, * p3, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, p2 *; repeat from * to *; p3, yo, k1, k2tog, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, skpo, yo, p3, * p4, yo, cdd, yo, p3 *; repeat from * to *; p4, yo, k2tog, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout for pattern.
