How to knit Diamond Pattern:

Work with a multiple of 14 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 16 stitches (14 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate right side rows, and at left edge wrong side rows.

Read Right Side rows from right to left, Wrong Side rows from left to right.

The pattern repeat = 14 stitches wide.

Abbreviation:

k: knit

p: purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

Rows 1 and 3 (right side): edge st, * k4, p6, k4 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Rows 2 and 4 (wrong side): purl.

Row 5: edge st, * k4, skpo, yo, k2, yo, k2tog, k4 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Row 6: edge st, * p3, p2tog, yo, p4, yo, p2tog tbl, p3 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.
