Diamond Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Diamond Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 9 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 21 stitches (3 + 10 + 6 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side rows, work stitches as they appear.

The patt rep = 10 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 3 stitches before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 6 stitches after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.

k: knit

p: purl

2-st RTp: knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, purl the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

2-st LTp: purl 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

Cr3 right: slip 1 stitch to 1st cable needle and hold in back; slip 1 stitch to 2nd cn and hold in front; K1; then K1 from 2nd cable needle; finally K1 from 1st cable needle

Row 1: edge st, p3, * Cr3 right, p7 *; repeat from * to *; Cr3 right, p3, edge st.

Row 2 and every even row: work each stitch as it appears on this side of work (knit the k sts and purl the p sts).

Row 3: edge st, p2, 2-st RTp, * p1, 2-st LTp, p5, 2-st RTp *; repeat from * to *; p1, 2-st LTp, p2, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, p1, 2-st RTp, p1, * p2, 2-st LTp, p3, 2-st RTp, p1 *; repeat from * to *; p2, 2-st LTp, p1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, 2-st RTp, p2, * p3, 2-st LTp, k1, 2-st RTp, p2 *; repeat from * to *; p3, 2-st LTp, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k1, p3, * p4, Cr3 right, p3 *; repeat from * to *; p4, k1, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, 2-st LTp, p2, * p3, 2-st RTp, p1, 2-st LTp, p2 *; repeat from * to *; p3, 2-st RTp, edge st.

Row 13: edge st, p1, 2-st LTp, p1, * p2, 2-st RTp, p3, 2-st LTp, p1 *; repeat from * to *; p2, 2-st RTp, p1, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, p2, 2-st LTp, * k1, 2-st RTp, p5, 2-st LTp *; repeat from * to *; k1, 2-st RTp, p2, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
