Leaves Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Leaves Stitch:

Work with multiple of 12 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 15 sts (1 + 12 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and stitch before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, k1, * yo, cdd, yo, k5, yo, cdd, yo, k1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k1, * yo, k1, cdd, yo, k3, yo, cdd, k1, yo, k1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k1, * yo, k2, cdd, yo, k1, yo, cdd, k2, yo, k1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k1, * yo, k3, cdd, yo, k2tog, k3, yo, k1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k1, * k2, (yo, cdd, yo, k1) twice, k2, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, k1, * k1, yo, cdd, (k1, yo) twice, k1, cdd, yo, k2, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 13: edge st, k1, * yo, cdd, k2, (yo, k1) twice, k1, cdd, yo, k1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, k1, * k2tog, k3, (yo, k1) twice, k2, cdd, yo, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
