How to knit Zigzag Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 18 stitches + 2 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 22 stitches (2 + 18 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows only Right Side Rows.
On Wrong Side Rows, work all stitches as they appear.
The pattern repeat = 18 stitches wide.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and 2 stitches before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 edge stitch.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
2-st RT: skip 1 st, knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st LT: knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st RT (k1/p1): knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, purl the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st LT (p1/k1): purl 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
cross 3 right: slip 1 st to cable needle, hold to back, K2, K1 from cable needle
cross 3 left: slip 2 st to cable needle, hold to front, K1, K2 from cable needle
cross 3 right (k2/p1): slip 1 st to cable needle, hold to back, K2, P1 from cable needle
cross 3 left (p1/k2): slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, P1, K2 from cable needle
