Lace Zigzag Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Zigzag Stitch:

Work with multiple of 14 sts + 2 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 18 stitches (1 + 14 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 14 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 1 stitch before patt, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 stitch after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, k1, * k1, yo, cdd, yo, k2, yo, cdd, yo, k5, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k1, * yo, cdd, yo, k4, yo, cdd, yo, k4, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, yo, * cdd, yo, k6, yo, cdd, yo, k2, yo, repeat from * to last 3 sts, skpo, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k1, * k4, yo, cdd, yo, k2, yo, cdd, yo, k2, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k1, * k3, yo, cdd, yo, k4, yo, cdd, yo, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, k1, * k2, yo, cdd, yo, k6, yo, cdd, yo, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout.
