Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern
How to knit Lace Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 6 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 21 sts (6 + 6 + 6 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.
Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.
The patt rep = 6 sts wide.
The number of stitches varies within 16 rows of pattern repeat.
yo: yarn over
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch
Row 1 (RS): knit all sts.
Row 2 (WS): purl all sts.
Row 3: edge st, * make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch on the right needle purlwise, k1, cdd, k1 *; repeat from * to *; make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch on the right needle purlwise, edge st.
Row 4: edge st, make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch with yo on the right needle purlwise, * p3, make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch with yo on the right needle purlwise *; repeat from * to *; edge st.
Row 5: edge st, * knit 1 st with 2yo's together, yo, cdd, yo *; repeat from * to *; knit 1 st with 2yo's together, edge st.
Row 6: edge st, p1, * yo, p3, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.
Rows 7 and 9: knit all sts.
Rows 8 and 10: purl all sts.
Row 11: edge st, skpo, k1, * make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch on the right needle purlwise, k1, cdd, k1 *; repeat from * to *; make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch on the right needle purlwise, k1, k2tog, edge st.
Row 12: edge st, p2, make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch with yo on the right needle purlwise, * p3, make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch with yo on the right needle purlwise *; repeat from * to *; p2, edge st.
Row 13: edge st, skpo, yo, * knit 1 st with 2yo's together, yo, cdd, yo *; repeat from * to *; knit 1 st with 2yo's together, yo, k2tog, edge st.
Row 14: edge st, p2, yo, p1, * yo, p3, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; yo, p2, edge st.
Row 15: knit all sts.
Row 16: purl all sts.
Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
