How to knit Honeycomb Stitch:

Multiple of 4 + 2 + 2 selvage sts.

Cast on 16 sts (4 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 selv sts) and work according to chart. 

RS row and WS row are shown.

Read RS row from right to left, WS row from left to right.

The pat rep = 4 sts wide.

Row 1 (WS): selv st (edge), K2, * slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at front of work, K2, repeat from *, selv st.

Row 2 (RS): selv st, * P2, slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, repeat from *, P2, selv st.

Row 3: selv st, slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at front of work, * (lift 2 front horizontal strands and Ktog with the next st) 2 times, slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at front of work, repeat from *, selv st.

Row 4: selv st, * slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, P2, repeat from *, slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, selv st. 

Row 5: selv st, (lift 2 front horizontal strands and Ktog with the next st) 2 times, * slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at front of work, (lift 2 front horizontal strands and Ktog with the next st) 2 times, repeat from *, selv st.

Row 6: selv st, * P2, slip 2 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, repeat from *, P2, selv st.

Work rows 1-6 once, then rep rows 3-6 throughout.
