Heart Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Heart Stitch:

Work with multiple of 13 stitches + 2 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 17 sts (2 + 13 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, work all sts and yo’s P.

The pat rep = 13 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

K3tog: knit 3 stitches together

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

Rows 1 and 3: knit all sts.

Row 5: edge st, k2, * k4, k2tog, yo, k7, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k2, * k3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k5, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k2, * k2, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k4, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, k2, * k1, k2tog, yo, k5, yo, skpo, k3, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 13: edge st, k2, * k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k2, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, k2, * k2, yo, sk2p, yo, k1, yo, k3tog, yo, k4, repeat from *, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
