Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with a multiple of 14 sts + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 17 sts (14 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 14 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 st after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

Row 1: knit all stitches.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo's.

Rows 3, 5 and 7: edge st, * k1, yo, k4, k2tog, k1, skpo, k4, yo *; repeat from * to *; k1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * k2, yo, k3, k2tog, k1, skpo, k3, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, * k3, yo, k2, k2tog, k1, skpo, k2, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k1, edge st.

Row 13: edge st, * k4, yo, k1, k2tog, k1, skpo, k1, yo, k3 *; repeat from * to *; k1, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, * k5, yo, k2tog, k1, skpo, yo, k4 *; repeat from * to *; k1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
