Diamond Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Diamond Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 14 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 31 sts (7 + 14 + 8 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The patt rep = 14 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

cddp (Central Double Decrease Purl): transpose the order of the first and second stitch on the left needle; then purl the three stitches together

Row 1 (RS): edge st, k1, yo, p2tog, p4, * p5, p2tog tbl, yo, k1, yo, p2tog, p4 *; repeat from * to *; p5, p2tog tbl, yo, k1, edge st.

Rows 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 (WS): purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 3: edge st, k2, yo, p2tog, p3, * p4, p2tog tbl, yo, k3, yo, p2tog, p3 *; repeat from * to *; p4, p2tog tbl, yo, k2, edge st.
