Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Checker Stitch:

Work with multiple of 6 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 14 sts (6 + 6 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The patt rep = 6 sts wide.

Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.

Row 1: knit all stitches.

Row 2: purl all stitches.

Rows 3 and 5: edge st, * k2, p2, k2 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Rows 4 and 6: edge st, * p2, k2, p2 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Row 7: knit all stitches.

Row 8: purl all stitches.

Rows 9 and 11: edge st, * k1, p4, k1 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Rows 10 and 12: edge st, * p1, k4, p1 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout.
