Tunic in Zig-zag Pattern
Size: 10 (US 8).
Materials:
Yarn: 260 g (100% cotton, 175 m per 50 g ball); one pair knit needles size 1 mm and one circular needle size 1,5 mm, crochet hook size 1,25 mm.
Zig-Zag Pattern:
Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows work all sts and yos P.
Repeat Rows 1-14 throughout.
Fancy pattern:
Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.
Rep Rows 1 - 4 throughout.
Begin with 1 selv st and sts before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with sts after patt and 1 selv st for wing sleeves.
Gauge:
over Zig-Zag Pattern: 24 sts and 34 rnd = 10 x 10 cm.
Back and Front:
With circular needle, cast on 216 sts and join for working in rnds.
Work in Zig-Zag Pattern.
Armhole Shaping: on Rnd 169 from beg, cont as foll: bind off 21 sts for right armhole, work 87 sts in Zig-Zag Pattern for back, bind off 21 sts for left armhole, work 87 sts in Zig-Zag Pattern for front.
Place Front sts on stitch holder.
Back (over 87 sts):
Work in Fancy pattern.
Neck Shaping: On Row 229 from beg, bind off center 27 sts and dec at both neck edges 1 stitch every other row 3 times.
On Row 249 from beg, bind off rem 27 shoulder sts on either side.
Front (over 87 sts):
Work in Fancy pattern.
Neck Shaping: On Row 219 from beg, bind off center 27 sts and dec at both neck edges 1 stitch every other row 3 times.
On Row 249 from beg, bind off rem 27 shoulder sts on either side.
Finishing:
Wing Sleeves:
Sew shoulder seams.
With knitting needle size 1 mm, pick up 156 sts along armhole edge (make 3 stitches from every 13th stitch for folds) and work in Fancy Pattern.
Beg from Row 3, work short rows (6 sts, then 6 sts every other row 8 times) = 48 sts.
On Row 23 from beg, bind off all sts.
With crochet hook, work 1 rnds sc (single crochet) evenly around neckline and wing sleeves edges.
Join row with sl st (slip stitch) to first st.
