Jacket with Cable Diamond Pattern

Size: 10/12 (US 8/10)

Materials:

Yarn: 500 g (100% Acrylic, yardage = 280 m/100 g); one circular needle size US 3 (3 mm), 5 buttons.

Rib Patt: alt K3, P2 Rib.

Basic Pattern:

Work acc to сhart. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-14 throughout.

Note:

Jacket is worked in one piece.

Cast on 224 sts and work 12 cm in Rib Patt.

Cont in Basic Pattern working 4 reps.

Neckline Shaping: When work measures 34 cm from beg, bind off at each end 1 stitch 20 times on every 4th RS row.

When work measures 44 cm from cast on, divide the work into 3 parts: 46 sts for Right Front, 92 sts for Back and 46 sts for Left Front. .

Armhole Shaping: Working Back, bind off at each end 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 3 times on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 68 cm from cast on, bind off sts of Back.

Right Front Armhole Shaping: bind off at the end of each RS row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 3 times.

When piece measures 68 cm from beg, bind off sts.

Left Front: Work in reverse.

Sleeve:

Cast on 60 sts and work 10 cm in Rib Patt.

Cont in Basic Patt.

Shape sleeve: Inc 1st on each side on every 4th RS row 14 times.

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 50 cm from cast on, at both ends bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 20 times on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 65 cm from cast on, bind off sts.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams.

Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves.

For band, pick up sts along outside edge of neckline and fronts and work 6 cm in Rib Patt, at the same time working buttonholes evenly spaced on right front band.
