Tunic with Lace Leaf Pattern

Materials: 

Yarn: 800 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 392 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 3.5 mm (US 4).

Rib Pattern: K1, P1 Rib.

Checkered Pattern: Work according to chart 1.

Lace Leaf Pattern: Work according to chart 2.

Work with 2 strands of yarn!

Back: 

With contrasting yarn, cast on 83 sts.

Cont with main yarn in Checkered Pattern. Dec evenly 1 st 4 times on every 6th row at each end. 

Armhole Shaping: After 34 cm from contrasting yarn, at each end bind off 4 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st once on every 2nd row. 

Neckline Shaping: When work meas 51 cm from beg, bind off center 11 sts and complete both sides separately. 

For rounding at inside edge bind off 5 sts once and 3 sts once.

When work meas 54 cm from cast on, bind off all sts. 

Work in reverse for other side. 

Remove contrasting yarn at bottom of back. Work 50 rows in Lace Leaf Pattern. Bind off all sts.

Front: 

Work like back, but with deeper neckline. 

Neckline Shaping: When work meas 47 cm from contrasting yarn, bind off center 11 sts and complete both sides separately. 

For rounding at inside edge bind off 2 sts 4 times on every 2nd row. 

Sleeves: 

With contrasting yarn, cast on 42 sts. Work 18 cm in Checkered Pattern. 

Cap Shaping: At each end bind off 4 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts twice, 1 st 7 times on every 4th row. 

When piece meas 33 cm, bind off all sts. 

Remove contrasting yarn at bottom of sleeve. Work in Lace Leaf Pattern. Bind off all sts.

Finishing: 

Sew side and shoulder seams. 

Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves. 

Pick up 74 sts evenly around neck edge and work 16 cm in Rib Patt. Then bind off all sts as they appear.
