How to knit Checker Stitch:

Multiple of 12 + 9 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 23 sts (9 + 12 + 2 edge sts) and work according to сhart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

The pat rep = 12 sts.

Row 1: edge st, p9, * k3, p9, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 3 and 7: knit all sts.

Row 5: edge st, p3, * k3, p9, repeat from * to last 7 sts, k3, p3, edge st.

Repeat rows 1-8 throughout.
