Relief Stripe Knitting Pattern

How to knit Relief Stitch:

Multiple of 6 + 2 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 16 sts and work according to сhart.

RS row and WS row are shown.

Read RS row from right to left, WS row from left to right.

The pat rep = 6 sts.

Begin with 1 selv st, work patt rep throughout, end with 2 sts after patt rep and 1 selv st.

Row 1: selvage st (edge), *P2, yo, 1 skpo (= slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch), K2, place these 2 sts back on left-hand needle, insert needle between 3rd and 2nd sts ans pull out loop, place K2 back on right-hand needle, repeat from *, end with P2, selvage st.

Row 2: selvage st, * K2,  P1, Purl 2 stitches together, P1, purl yo, repeat from *, end with K2, selvage st.

Repeat Rows 1+2 throughout.
