Dense Relief Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Relief Stitch:

Multiple of 2 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 14 sts (2 sts 6 times + 2 edge sts) and work according to сhart.

The chart shows Right Side and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The patt rep = 2 sts.

Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.

slip wyib: slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at back of work

slip wyif: slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at front of work

Row 1: edge st, * slip wyib, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 2: purl all stitches.

Row 3: edge st, * slip 1 st with yo together pwise, p1, pass yo over 2 sts; p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 4: edge st, * k1, slip wyif; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * slip wyib, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 6: purl all stitches.

Work Rows 1-6 once, then repeat rows 3-6 throughout.
