Moss Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Moss Cable Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 7 stitches + 2 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 18 stitches (1 + 7 + 7 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The patt rep = 7 sts wide.

cross 5 sts to left: slip stitch to 1st cable needle and hold in front; slip 3 sts to 2nd cable needle and hold in back; K1; then P1, K1, P1 from 2nd cable needle; finally K1 from 1st cable needle

Rows 1 and 3: edge st, p1, * (p1, k1) 3 times, p1 *; repeat from * to *, ending with p1, edge st.

Rows 2 and 4: edge st, k1, * k1, (p2, k1) twice *; repeat from * to *, ending with k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, p1, * p1, cross 5 sts to left, p1 *; repeat from * to *, ending with p1, edge st.

Rows 6, 8 and 10: edge st, k1, * k1, (p2, k1) twice *; repeat from * to *, ending with k1, edge st.

Rows 7 and 9: edge st, p1, * (p1, k1) 3 times, p1 *; repeat from * to *, ending with p1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-10 throughout.
