Mixed Cable Knitting Pattern

How to knit Mixed Cable:

Work with multiple of 14 stitches + 2 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 18 stitches (14 + 2 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side rows.

On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear or according to chart key.

The patt rep = 14 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt rep throughout, end with 2 sts after patt and 1 edge st.

gst (1 st in garter stitch): work K in RS and WS rows

C8F (k4+gst4): slip 4 sts to cable needle, hold to front, 4 gst, K4 from cable needle

C8F (gst4+k4): slip 4 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K4, 4 gst from cable needle

Rows 1, 3, 5 and 7: edge st, * p4, k4, gst4, p2 *, repeat from * to *, p2, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * p4, C8F (k4+gst4), p2 *, repeat from * to *, p2, edge st.

Rows 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19: edge st, * p4, gst4, k4, p2 *, repeat from * to *, p2, edge st.

Row 21: edge st, * p4, C8F (gst4+k4), p2 *, repeat from * to *, p2, edge st.

Rows 23, 25 and 27: edge st, * p4, k4, gst4, p2 *, repeat from * to *, p2, edge st.

Work Rows 1-28 once, then repeat Rows 5-28 throughout.
