Mesh Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Mesh Stitch:

Multiple of 4 + 2 selvage sts. 

Cast on 18 stitches (4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 2 selvage sts) and work according to chart.

RS row and WS row are shown.

The pat rep = 4 sts wide.

Row 0 (WS - set-up row): purl all sts.

Row 1 (RS): edge st, * work 4 sts from 4 sts (= insert the right needle into the 1st st of the left needle, as if to knit the through back loop, and pull out the loop through it, then insert needle into the 1st and the 2nd sts of the left needle, as if to knit the through back loop, and pull out the 2nd loop through them, then insert the right needle into the 1st, 2nd and 3rd sts, as if to knit the through back loop and pull out  the 3rd loop through them, then insert the right needle into the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th sts, as if to knit the through back loop and pull out the 4th loop through them, then slip 4 sts from the left needle, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 2: purl all sts.

Row 3: edge st, k2, * work 4 sts from 4 sts, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2, edge st.

Row 4: purl all sts.

Work rows 0-4 once, then repeat rows 1-4 throughout.
