Lace Zigzag Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Zigzag Stitch:

Work with multiple of 12 sts + 5 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 19 stitches (2 + 12 + 3 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 2 sts before patt, work patt rep throughout, end with 3 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, k2, * k2tog, (k1, yo) twice, k1, skpo, k5, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k2tog, k1, yo, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k1, skpo, * k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, cdd, yo, skpo, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k1, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, yo, k1, * skpo, k5, k2tog, (k1, yo) twice, k1, repeat from * to last 5 sts, skpo, k2, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k1, yo, * k1, k2tog, yo, cdd, yo, skpo, k1, yo, k3, yo, repeat from * to last 5 sts, k1, k2tog, k1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout.
