How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with a multiple of 22 sts + 3 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 27 sts (22 + 3 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 22 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 1 yarn over before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 3 sts and 1 yarn over after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, yo, * cdd, k5, yo, k1, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, k1, yo, k5 *; repeat from * to *; cdd, yo, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, yo, * cdd, k4, yo, k3, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, k3, yo, k4 *; repeat from * to *; cdd, yo, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, yo, * cdd, k3, yo, k5, yo, cdd, yo, k5, yo, k3 *; repeat from * to *; cdd, yo, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, yo, * cdd, k2, yo, k1, yo, k5, cdd, k5, yo, k1, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; cdd, yo, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, yo, * cdd, k1, yo, k3, yo, k4, cdd, k4, yo, k3, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; cdd, yo, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, yo, * cdd, yo, k5, yo, k3, cdd, k3, yo, k5, yo *; repeat from * to *; cdd, yo, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout.
