Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 15 stitches + 10 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 27 sts (2 + 15 + 8 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work sts as they appear or as given in instructions; work yo’s Purl. 

The patt rep = 15 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 2 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 8 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

slstwithyo: make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch over on the right needle purlwise. On Wrong Side Row, purl this st with yo together.

2-st RT: skip 1 st, knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

2-st LT: knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

Row 1: edge st, p1, slstwithyo, * p1, 2-st RT, 2-st LT, p1, slstwithyo, p1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, p1, slstwithyo *; repeat from * to *; p1, 2-st RT, 2-st LT, p1, slstwithyo, p1, edge st.

Rows 3 and 7: edge st, p1, slstwithyo, * p1, k4, p1, slstwithyo, p1, skpo, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, p1, slstwithyo *; repeat from * to *; p1, k4, p1, slstwithyo, p1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, p1, slstwithyo, * p1, 2-st LT, 2-st RT, p1, slstwithyo, p1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, p1, slstwithyo *; repeat from * to *; p1, 2-st LT, 2-st RT, p1, slstwithyo, p1, edge st.

Repeat these 8 rows for pattern.
