Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 8 stitches + 5 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 23 sts (2 + 8 + 8 + 3 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 8 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 2 sts before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 3 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, k2, * k2, yo, skpo, k1, k2tog, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *, k3, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 3: edge st, k2, * yo, cdd, yo, k3, yo, k2tog *; repeat from * to *, yo, skpo, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k1, yo, * cdd, yo, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, yo *; repeat from * to *, cdd, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k2, * k1, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo *; repeat from * to *, k3, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k2, * k2, yo, k2tog, yo, cdd, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *, k3, edge st.
