Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with a multiple of 15 stitches + 9 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 26 sts (15 + 9 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 15 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt rep throughout, end with 9 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Row 1: edge st, * k2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k2, p4, p2tog, yo *; repeat from * to *; k2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k2, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 3: edge st, * k1, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k1, p3, p2tog, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, p2, p2tog, yo, p2 *; repeat from * to *; (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, * k3, yo, cdd, yo, k3, p1, p2tog, yo, p3 *; repeat from * to *; k3, yo, cdd, yo, k3, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * k9, p2tog, yo, p4 *; repeat from * to *; k9, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-10 throughout.
