Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with a multiple of 14 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 17 sts (14 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 14 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt rep throughout, end with stitch after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Row 1: edge st, * k1, yo, skpo, k9, k2tog, yo *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 3: edge st, * k1, (yo, skpo) 3 times, k1, (k2tog, yo) 3 times *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k5, (k2tog, yo) twice *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, * k1, yo, skpo, k9, k2tog, yo *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * k5, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k4 *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, * k1, (k2tog, yo) 3 times, k1, (yo, skpo) 3 times *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 13: edge st, * k3, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k2 *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, * k5, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k4 *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
