Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with multiple of 22 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 24 sts (22 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work sts as they appear; work yo’s Purl. 

The patt rep = 22 sts wide.

Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.

yo: yarn over

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, * p1, cdd, k5, yo, k1, yo, p2, yo, k1, yo, k5, cdd, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: work each stitch as it appears on this side of work (knit the k sts and purl the p sts) and purl all yo’s.

Row 3: edge st, * p1, k1, cdd, k4, yo, k1, yo, p2, yo, k1, yo, k4, cdd, k1, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * p1, k2, cdd, k3, yo, k1, yo, p2, yo, k1, yo, k3, cdd, k2, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, * p1, k3, cdd, k2, yo, k1, yo, p2, yo, k1, yo, k2, cdd, k3, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * p1, k4, cdd, k1, yo, k1, yo, p2, yo, k1, yo, k1, cdd, k4, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, * p1, yo, k1, yo, k5, cdd, p2, cdd, k5, yo, k1, yo, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 13: edge st, * p1, yo, k1, yo, k4, cdd, k1, p2, k1, cdd, k4, yo, k1, yo, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, * p1, yo, k1, yo, k3, cdd, k2, p2, k2, cdd, k3, yo, k1, yo, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 17: edge st, * p1, yo, k1, yo, k2, cdd, k3, p2, k3, cdd, k2, yo, k1, yo, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 19: edge st, * p1, yo, k1, yo, k1, cdd, k4, p2, k4, cdd, k1, yo, k1, yo, p1; repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-20 throughout.
