Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with multiple of 16 stitches + 9 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 27 sts (1 + 16 + 8 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, work all sts and yo’s P.

The pat rep = 16 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and stitch before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 8 sts after patt and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, k1, * (yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, k1) twice, repeat from * to last 9 sts, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k1, * k1, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, k10, repeat from * to last 9 sts, k1, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, k2, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k1, * k2, yo, cdd, yo, k5, yo, cdd, yo, k3, repeat from * to last 9 sts, k2, yo, cdd, yo, k3, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k1, * k9, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, k2, repeat from * to last 9 sts, k8, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout.
