Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Multiple of 8 + 3 + 2 selvage sts.

Cast on 21 sts (3 + 8 + 8 + 2 selv sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 8 sts wide.

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, k1, skpo, yo, * k1, yo (= yarn over), cdd, yo, k1, yo, cdd, yo, repeat from * to the last 9 sts, k1, yo, cdd, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k1, edge st.

Rows 3 and 5: edge st, k1, skpo, yo, * k5, yo, cdd, yo, repeat from * to the last 9 sts, k5, yo, k2tog, k1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k3, * yo, skpo, k1, k2tog, yo, k3, repeat from * to the last 9 sts, yo, skpo, k1, k2tog, yo, k3, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout.
