Lace Diamond Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Diamond Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 6 sts + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 20 sts (3 + 6 + 6 + 3 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On the Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s, when knitting 2 yo's successively, knit into one yarn over and purl into the next.

The patt rep = 6 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 3 sts before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 3 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

double yarn over: A double yarn over is created by working 2 yo's right next to each other. On Wrong Side Rows, knit first yo, purl second yo

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

Row 1: edge st, k2tog, yo, k1, * k1, yo, skpo, k2tog, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, yo, skpo, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, skpo, yo, k1, * k1, yo, k2tog, skpo, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, yo, k2tog, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, yo, skpo, k1, * k1, k2tog, double yarn over, skpo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, k2tog, yo, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k1, yo, skpo, * k2tog, yo, k2, yo, skpo *; repeat from * to *; k2tog, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k1, yo, k2tog, * skpo, yo, k2, yo, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; skpo, yo, k1, edge st.
