Lace Diagonal Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Diagonal Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 8 stitches + 6 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 16 stitches (2 + 8 + 4 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side rows.

On Wrong Side rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 8 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 2 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 4 sts after patt and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

Row 1: edge st, yo, skpo, * k2, k2tog, yo, k2, yo, skpo *; repeat from * to *, k2, k2tog, yo, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 3: edge st, k1, yo, * skpo, k2tog, yo, k4, yo *; repeat from * to *, skpo, k2tog, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k2, * k2tog, yo, k2, yo, skpo, k2 *; repeat from * to *, k2tog, yo, k2, edge st.
