Lace Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Checker Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 6 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 21 sts (6 + 6 + 7 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The patt rep = 6 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1 (RS): edge st, k2, yo, cdd, yo, k1, * k2, yo, cdd, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k2, yo, cdd, yo, k2, edge st.

Row 2 (WS): edge st, p1, p2tog tbl, yo, p1, yo, p2tog, p1, * p2tog tbl, yo, p1, yo, p2tog, p1 *; repeat from * to *; p2tog tbl, yo, p1, yo, p2tog, p1, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, * k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo *; repeat from * to *; k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k1, edge st.

Row 4: purl all stitches.

Row 5: edge st, skpo, yo, k3, * yo, cdd, yo, k3 *; repeat from * to *; yo, cdd, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, edge st.

Row 6: edge st, p1, yo, p2tog, p1, p2tog tbl, yo, p1, * yo, p2tog, p1, p2tog tbl, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; yo, p2tog, p1, p2tog tbl, yo, p1, edge st.
