How to knit Lace Cable Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 23 stitches + 4 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 29 stitches (23 + 4 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows only Right Side Rows.
On Wrong Side Rows, work the stitches as they appear; purl yarn-over loops.
When working garter stitch you knit the stitches on every row.
The pattern repeat = 23 stitches wide.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, work patt rep throughout, end with 4 stitches after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
yo: Yarn Over
gst (1 stitch in garter stitch): knit in right side and wrong side rows
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
C6F (k3+k3): slip 3 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K3, K3 from cable needle
C6B (k3+k3): slip 3 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K3, K3 from cable needle
Written Instructions:
Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * k4, p1, k3, (k2tog, yo) twice, p1, k1, p1, (yo, skpo) twice, k3, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k4, edge stitch.
Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work the stitches as they appear; purl yarn-over loops. When working garter stitch you knit the stitches.
