Lace Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Cable Stitch:

Work with multiple of 18 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 21 sts (18 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work all sts as they appear; work yo's Purl.

The patt rep = 18 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 st after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

p3tog: purl 3 stitches together

C4F: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K2, K2 from cable needle

C4B: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K2, K2 from cable needle

Row 1: edge st, * p1, k1, p1, yo, p2tog tbl, k4, p1, k4, p2tog, yo, p1, k1 *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge st.

Row 2 and every even row: work each stitch as it appears on this side of work (knit the k sts and purl the p sts) and purl any yarn-over loops.

Row 3: edge st, * p1, k2, p1, yo, p2tog tbl, k3, p1, k3, p2tog, yo, p1, k2 *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge st.
