Lace Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Cable Stitch:

Multiple of 12 sts + 5 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 19 sts (3 + 12 + 2 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

C5B: slip 3 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K2, K3 from cable needle

C5F: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K3, K2 from cable needle

Row 1: edge st, yo, skpo, k1, * C5F, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k1, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: work all sts and yo’s P.

Row 3: edge st, k1, yo, skpo, * k5, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2, edge st.

Rows 5, 7 and 9: edge st, k2, yo, * skpo, k3, k2tog, yo, k5, yo, repeat from * to last 4 sts, skpo, k1, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, k3, * k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k1, C5B, k1, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2tog, yo, edge st.

Row 13: edge st, k2, k2tog, * yo, k3, yo, skpo, k5, k2tog, repeat from * to last 2 sts, yo, k1, edge st.

Rows 15, 17 and 19: edge st, k1, k2tog, yo, * k5, yo, skpo, k3, k2tog, yo, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-20 throughout.
