Lace Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Cable Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 14 stitches + 5 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 21 stitches (2 + 14 + 3 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work all stitches as they appear; work yarn overs Purl.

The patt rep = 14 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 2 stitches before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 3 stitches after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: Yarn Over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

1/3 Left Cross: slip 1 st to cable needle, hold to front, K3; K1 from cable needle

3/1 Right Cross: slip 3 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K1, K3 from cable needle

Rows 1 and 3: edge st, p1, yo, * sk2p, yo, p1, k4, p1, k4, p1, yo *; repeat from * to *; sk2p, yo, p1, edge st.

Row 2 and every even row: work each stitch as it appears on this side of work (knit the k sts and purl the p sts) and purl any yarn-over loops.

Row 5: edge st, p1, yo, * sk2p, yo, p1, k2, k2tog, yo, p1, yo, skpo, k2, p1, yo *; repeat from * to *; sk2p, yo, p1, edge st.
