Fancy Stitch Knitting Pattern
How to knit Fancy Stitch:
Multiple of 16 + 10 + 2 edge sts.
Cast on 28 sts (5 + 16 + 5 + 2 edge sts) and work according to the chart.
The chart shows only RS rows.
On WS rows, work sts as they appear.
The pat rep = 16 sts wide.
Begin with 1 edge st and 5 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 5 sts after patt and 1 edge st.
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
2-st RT: knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st LT: knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
rli (Right Lifted Increase): insert needle into st below st on left needle, knit this st
lli (Left Lifted Increase): insert needle into st below st on right needle, knit this st
Set-up Row 0 (WS): purl all sts.
Row 1: edge st, k3, k2tog, lli, * rli, skpo, k3, p1, 2-st RT, 2-st LT, p1, k3, k2tog, lli, repeat from * to last 6 sts, rli, skpo, k3, edge st.
Row 3: edge st, k2, k2tog, k1, lli, * rli, k1, skpo, k2, p1, 2-st RT, 2-st LT, p1, k2, k2tog, k1, lli, repeat from * to last 6 sts, rli, k1, skpo, k2, edge st.
