Fancy Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Fancy Stitch:

Multiple of 12 + 9 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 23 sts (3 + 12 + 6 + 2 edge sts) and work according to the chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, work sts as they appear or according to chart key.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide. 

gst (1 st in garter stitch): purl in RS and WS rows

inc5: make 5 sts (P1, yo, P1, yo, P1) into 1 st. On WS Rows, knit 5 sts.

K5tog tbl: knit 5 stitches together through the back loop

Rows 1 and 3: edge st, gst3, * p3, gst3, p1, k1, p1, gst3, repeat from * to last 7 sts, p3, gst3, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, gst3, * p3, gst3, p1, inc5, p1, gst3, repeat from * to last 7 sts, p3, gst3, edge st.

Rows 7 and 9: edge st, gst3, * p3, gst3, p5, gst3, repeat from * to last 7 sts, p3, gst3, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, gst3, * p3, gst3, p1, K5tog tbl, p1, gst3, repeat from * to last 7 sts, p3, gst3, edge st.

Repeat rows 1-12 throughout.
