Easy Relief Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Relief Stitch:

Multiple of 4 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 18 sts (4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 2 edge sts) and work according to сhart.

RS row and WS row are shown.

Read RS row from right to left, WS row from left to right.

The pat rep = 4 sts wide.

Row 1: edge st, * K3, slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, repeat from *, end with edge st.

Row 2: edge st, * slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at front of work, K3, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 3 and 7: edge st, alt P1, K1 throughout, end with K1 and edge st.

Rows 4 and 8: purl all sts.

Row 5: edge st, K1, slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, * K3, slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, repeat from *, end with K2 and edge st.

Row 6: edge st, P2, * slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at front of work, P3, repeat from *, slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at front of work, P1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout.
