Easy Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern for Beginners
How to knit the Easy Checker Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 6 stitches + 3 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 17 sts (6 + 6 + 3 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.
Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.
The pat rep = 6 sts wide.
Row 1 and all odd-numbered rows: knit all stitches.
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12: edge st, p3, * k3, p3 *; repeat from * to *, edge st.
Rows 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24: edge st, k3, * p3, k3 *; repeat from * to *, edge st.
Repeat Rows 1-24 throughout.
