Diamond Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Diamond Cable Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 12 sts + 4 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 18 sts (2 + 12 + 2 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 10 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 2 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 2 sts after patt and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

C4F: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K2, K2 from cable needle

C4B: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K2, K2 from cable needle

Rows 1, 3 and 5: edge st, k2, * k2tog twice, yo, k1, yo, k2, yo, k1, yo, skpo twice *; repeat from * to *; k2, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 7: edge st, * C4B, k8 *; repeat from * to *; C4B, edge st.

Rows 9, 11 and 13: edge st, k2, * k1, yo, k1, yo, skpo twice, k2tog twice, yo, k1, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k2, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, k2 * k4, C4F, k4 *; repeat from * to *; k2, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
