Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern
How to knit Checker Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 6 stitches + 2 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 16 sts (6 + 6 + 2 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.
Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.
The pat rep = 6 sts wide.
Row 1 and all odd-numbered rows (RS): knit all stitches.
Rows 2 and 4 (WS): edge st, p2, * k4, p2; repeat from *, edge st.
Rows 6 and 12: purl all stitches.
Rows 8 and 10: edge st, k2, * k1, p2, k3; repeat from *, edge st.
Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout.
