Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Checker Stitch:

Multiple of 12 + 11 + 2 selvage sts.

Cast on 25 sts (5 + 12 + 6 + 2 selvage sts) and work according to сhart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide.

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Rows 1, 3 and 5: edge st, p5, * yo (yarn over), k2tog, k3, skpo, yo, p5, repeat from * to the last 7 sts, yo, k2tog, k4, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 7, 9 and 11: edge st, k4, k2tog, yo, * p5, yo, k2tog, k3, skpo, yo, repeat from * to the last 6 sts, p5, edge st.

Repeat rows 1-12 throughout.
