How to knit Checker Cable Stitch:

Multiple of 10 + 4 + 2 selvage sts.

Cast on 16 sts (10 + 4 + 2 selvage sts) and work according to сhart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, purl all sts.

The pat rep = 10 sts.

C4F: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K2, K2 from cable needle

C4B: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K2, K2 from cable needle

Rows 1 and 9: knit all sts.

Row 2 and and every even row: purl all sts.

Rows 3, 5 and 7: edge st, * p5, C4F, p1, repeat from * to last 5 sts, p4, edge st.

Rows 11, 13 and 15: edge st, * C4B, p6, repeat from * to last 5 sts, C4B, edge st.

Repeat rows 1-16 throughout.
