Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Cable Stitch:

Work with multiple of 22 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 24 stitches (22 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side rows.

On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear.

The patt rep = 22 sts wide.

Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.

C4F: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K2, then K2 from cable needle

C4Fp: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, P2, then K2 from cable needle

C4Bp: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K2, then P2 from cable needle

Row 1: edge st, * p5, k4, p4, k4, p5, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, * p5, C4F, p4, C4F, p5, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * p3, (C4Bp, C4Fp) twice, p3, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 7, 11, 15 and 19: edge st, * p3, k2, p4, C4F, p4, k2, p3, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 9, 13 and 17: edge st, * p3, k2, p4, k4, p4, k2, p3, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 21: edge st, * p3, (C4Fp, C4Bp) twice, p3, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 23: edge st, * p5, C4F, p4, C4F, p5, repeat from *, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-24 throughout.
