How to knit Cable Stitch:

Work with multiple of 23 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 25 stitches (23 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side rows.

On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear.

The patt rep = 23 sts wide.

Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.

C4F: slip 2 sts to cn, hold to front, K2, K2 from cn

C4B: slip 2 sts to cn, hold to back, K2, K2 from cn

C4Fp: slip 2 sts to cn, hold to front, P2, K2 from cn

C4Bp: slip 2 sts to cn, hold to back, K2, P2 from cn

Row 1: edge st, * p1, k2, p4, k4, p1, k4, p4, k2, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, * p1, k2, p4, C4F, p1, C4B, p4, k2, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * p1, C4Fp, p2, k4, p1, k4, p2, C4Bp, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, * p3, C4F twice, p1, C4B twice, p3, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * p1, C4Bp, C4Fp, k2, p1, k2, C4Bp, C4Fp, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, * p1, k2, p4, C4F, p1, C4B, p4, k2, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, edge st.

Work Rows 1-12 once, then repeat Rows 5-12 throughout.
