Women's Cowl Neck Tunic

Size: 12/14.

Materials:

Yarn: 500 g (30% Wool, 70% Acrylic, yardage = 250 m/100 g); one pair quick knit needles and one circular knitting needle, both size 3mm (US 2.5); crochet hook size 3mm (US D).

Stockinette st (St st): Knit on RS rows, purl on WS rows.

Rib Pattern 1/1: * K1, P1, repeat from * throughout.

Rib Pattern 2/1: * K2, P1, repeat from * throughout.

Lace Cable Pattern:

Work according to chart 1. Only Right Side rows are shown.

On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear, purl yo's.

Repeat Rows 1-14 throughout.

Leaf Pattern:

Work according to chart 2. Only Right Side rows are shown.

On Wrong Side rows, purl all sts and yo's.

Repeat Rows 1-10 throughout.

Gauge: 16 sts and 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:

Cast on 87 sts and work in Rib Pattern 1/1 for 4 rows.

Then work in foll divisions: edge st, 10 sts in St st, 19 sts in Lace Cable Pattern, 27 sts in Leaf Pattern, 19 sts in Lace Cable Pattern, 10 sts in St st, edge st.

After 6 cm from beg, for side slants and sleeves increase 1 st at each end on every 8th row 6 times, on every 6th row 6 times, on every 4th row 6 times, on every 2nd row 10 times = 143 sts.

When piece measures 77 cm from beg, work even for 16 cm, then bind off all sts.

Front:

Work like back, but with neckline.

For the Neck Shaping, after 81 cm from beg, bind off center 19 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge, on every 2nd row bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st 3 times.

When piece measures 93 cm from beg, bind off remaining 54 sts.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams and top sleeve seams.

Collar: With RS facing and circular needle, pick up 90 sts evenly around neck edge and work in Pib Pattern 1/1.

After 3 cm , work M1p inc (make one by lifting strand in between stitch just worked and the next stitch, purl into back of this thread) in every 2nd patt rep of Rib Patt.

After 5 cm work M1p inc in the remaining patt rep of Rib Patt.

After 7 cm work M1p inc in every patt rep of Rib Patt.

Continue even.

After approx 24 cm, loosely bind off sts.

Sew side seams and bottom sleeve seam.

Cuffs: With circular needle, pick up and k 54 sts evenly around lower edge of sleeve and work in Rib Patt 2/1 for 5 cm, then bind off all sts.

With RS facing and crochet hook, work 2 rnd sc (single crochet) evenly around lower edge of tunic.
