Vest with Cables

Materials:

Yarn: 900 g (100% Acrylic, yardage = 200 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 4 mm (US 6), cable needles.

Rib Patt: Foll Chart 1. 

Cable Patterns A, B and C: Foll Charts 2, 3 and 4.  

Gauge: 18 sts and 28 rows = 10 x 10 сm. 

Back:

Cast on 258 sts and work 4 rows in Rib Patt 1. 

On next row work as foll: 2 sts (selv st), * 26 sts in Diamond, 12 sts in Cable Patt B, rep from * twice, 26 sts in Diamond, * 12 sts in Cable Patt A, 26 sts in Diamond, rep from * twice, 26 sts in Diamond, 2 sts (selv st).   

Work in Cable with Diamonds Patt A acc to chart 2 (1st and 2nd stages). 

After 65 cm from cast on bind off all sts. 

Left Front:

Cast on 79 sts and work 4 rows in Rib Patt acc to chart 1.

On next row work acc to chart 3: 2 selv sts, 15 sts in Cable Patt B, rep 15-st patt 4 times, 2 selv sts.  

After 65 cm from cast on bind off all sts. 

Right Front:

Cast on 79 sts and work 4 rows in Rib Patt acc to chart 1.

On next row work acc to chart 4: 2 selv sts, 15 sts in Cable Patt C, rep 15-st patt 4 times, 2 selv sts.  

After 65 cm from cast on bind off all sts. 

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams acc to chart. 

To shape shoulder along green line indicated in chart, join E with E.    

Sew side seams (23 cm lower and 22 cm upper seams) leaving 20 cm each side open for armholes.  

Collar:

Using 4 mm needles, pick up 130 sts at a distance of 20 cm from each edge of fronts and work 10 cm in Rib Patt acc to chart 1. Then bind off all sts.
