Tunic with Leaf Pattern

Size: 10/12 (US 8/10)

Materials:

Yarn: 500 g (50% Cotton, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 170m / 50g), 1 pair of knit needle size 3.5 mm (US 4), crochet hook size 3 mm, 3 buttons.

Yoke Pattern:

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Increased sts are shown on chart.

Work Rows 1-40.

Leaf Pattern:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Increased sts are shown on chart.

Work Rows 1-138.

Crochet trimming:

Work according to chart 3.

Working:

Model is worked in one piece from top down.

Cast on 117 sts and work in Yoke Pattern.

When piece measures 12 cm from cast on, divide it into parts using safety pins for marking: 50 sts for back, 36 sts for each yoke front, 50 sts for each sleeve = 222 sts.

Bind off sleeve sts, work back and front separately.

Back:

Cont to work in Leaf Pattern (= 3 reps).

When piece measures 50 cm from beg of Leaf Pattern, bind off all sts.

Front:

Place the sts of yoke fronts to needle and work in one piece in Leaf Pattern (= 3 reps).

When piece measures 50 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Sleeves:

Pick up sts (bound-off sts of sleeves) along lower edge of yoke and work in Leaf Pattern.

Work Rows 1-26 once and bind off all sts.

Rep for other sleeve.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams.

Sew side and sleeve seams.

Using crochet hook, trim the lower edge of tunic and sleeve edges.

Along neckline edge and side edges of yoke, with crochet hook, work 2 rnds sc while working 3 buttonholes on right front.

Sew on buttons.
